Caudalie French Kiss Tinted Lip Balm – Addiction
I was excited Caudalie launched these lipbalms and picked up 2 of these – Caudalie French Kiss Tinted Lip Balm in Addiction and the Caudalie French Kiss Tinted Lip Balm in Seduction.
Scent: The Seduction has a vanilla scent whilst the Addiction has a tart raspberry scent both of which I like because they are not overbearing when you apply them.
Color transfer: On that same token neither is the color overbearing at all, in fact very very SHEER. As I don’t have pale lips to begin, the Caudalie French Kiss Tinted Lip Balm in Seduction did not add any enhancement to my lip color just a moisturising effect. The Caudalie French Kiss Tinted Lip Balm in Addiction on the other hand, did have a slight natural lip color enhancement on application. Just as Caudalie founder Mathilde Thomas says its like just bitten lips!
So voila, I would strongly recommend the Caudalie French Kiss in Addiction as the color to go for as it is really not strong at all once applied. My thoughts are they had applied a super thick layer on their marketing shoots to really show the color. But as you can see by my swatch below, they are very lightly colored on application.
Texture: It is solid, so you will need to break it up a little by swirling to warm up. Again as Mathilde Thomas suggests you should break it like a creme brulee then apply it directly onto the lips.
Ingredients: Finally the Caudalie French Kiss tinted lip balm ingredients for shade ‘addiction’ is listed here in the image below.
VERDICT: If we’re eating up to 8lbs of lipstick in a lifetime, this French Kiss in Addiction is a great everyday addition to your lipstick wardrobe when you don’t want a full lipstick, want something natural and packed full of polyphenol antioxidant goodness , that French girl nonchalance I just woke up like that look , and a tint of natural color that is appropriate for the day AND can be scaled up for the night.
